Tata Scholarship for Engineering students is offered by the Tata Education and Development Trust to facilitate the higher education of students. Tata Scholarships are offered by various philanthropic units of the Tata group. The main of the Tata scholarship is to assist students who are talented but can’t continue their education due to financial conditions. Students pursuing various courses like Engineering, Medical, etc. can apply for this scholarship. The Tata Scholarship also assists those students who are ready to further their education at Cornell University. Students pursuing graduation, post-graduation, study rider, etc. are eligible.

Tata Capital Pankh Scholarship Program
Tata Capital Pankh Scholarship Program 2025 aims to help students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds continue their higher education. It offers a one-time scholarship for students in Classes 11 and 12, as well as those pursuing general graduation, diploma, or polytechnic courses. The scholarship covers up to 80% of the course fee, with a maximum amount of INR 10,000 to INR 12,000, whichever is lower.

Ratan Tata Scholarship for Engineering Students
The Philanthropic units of TATA Group, Tata Trusts, Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, Sir Ratan Tata Trust & Allied Trusts, provides scholarship is given to students who are very good in studies or this scholarship is given to those who are away from the field of study. (we can say underprivileged). 12th pass candidates are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Many of these Tata scholarships are given by Tata Trusts.
TATA Loan Scholarship Process
J.N. Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship awarded for full-time postgraduate, Ph.D., or postdoctoral studies abroad, covering all disciplines. Eligibility criteria and a thorough selection process determine the scholarship recipients. In recent years, the loan scholarship amounts have ranged from Rs.1 lakh up to a maximum of Rs.10 lakhs.
TATA Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
- The scheme is applicable for the current academic year only.
- Only students enrolled in colleges or schools located within Mumbai or its suburban areas are eligible to apply.
- Only students studying in colleges/schools located within Mumbai/Mumbai suburban areas may apply.
- Students must have passed their previous examination (students with ATKT are not eligible).
- A maximum of two siblings from the same family can apply.
- Applicants must possess the original annual fee receipt at the time of application.
- Nationality and Age: Candidates must be Indian citizens, not older than 45 years as of June 30, 2025.
- Academic Qualifications: Candidates must have graduated from a recognized Indian university with a minimum average of 60% marks in their undergraduate or postgraduate studies. Applicants with an undergraduate degree from an unrecognized university in India are ineligible.
- Course Requirement: The program of study must be a recognized graduate program (postgraduate in Indian terminology).
- Reapplication: Candidates who were not selected in previous years or those who were selected but could not avail of the loan scholarship are eligible to reapply.
- Ongoing Studies Abroad: Candidates already pursuing postgraduate studies abroad may apply at the end of their first year or the beginning of their second year, provided at least one full academic year (12 months) remains to be completed by the time the loan scholarship is awarded, typically in July.
- Final-Year Students: Candidates in the final year of their degree programs and those awaiting results are eligible to apply.
- Admission Status: Applicants may apply without having admission or offer letters at the time of application for the 2025 academic year. However, they must update the Endowment once they secure admission by emailing jnte@tatatruts.org with their application reference number (found on the top left corner of the form).
- Previous J N Tata Scholars: Scholars who have fully repaid their loan scholarship are eligible to reapply.
- Ineligible Programs: Candidates attending seminars, conferences, training programs, workshops, or presenting papers abroad, as well as those pursuing undergraduate studies, distance learning, online courses, or any diploma/certificate programs with an entry-level requirement of higher secondary education, are ineligible.

Lady Meherbai D Tata Education Trust scholarship
This is a merit-based, overseas master’s scholarship programme for women graduates engaged in social work, social science, public health, and the welfare of women and children. Established in 1933, the scholarship followed a rigorous selection procedure, with the trustees taking a keen interest in the selection process. Each year, up to 10 women benefit from this scholarship.
J N Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship
Ratan Tata Scholarship offers loans to all students for education, which is given at a very low rate, if all students return the same turn at the right time, then they may waive the loan. Established in 1932 by Sir Dorabji Tata, in memory of his wife, Lady Meherbai, this Trust spends four-fifths of its income for research in leukemic diseases and the balance one-fifth for research on alleviation of human sufferings from conditions in India and internationally.
