Inspire Scholarship 2025-26
The INSPIRE Scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarships available for students who are willing to pursue their careers in natural and basic sciences. Government of India approved the INSPIRE Scheme in November 2008. This Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) is part of the “Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE)” program, run by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. This program aims to encourage students to study basic and natural sciences at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and to pursue research careers by providing scholarships to deserving and interested students. Inspire Scholarship Eligibility:
- (a) Students who scored within the top 1% in their Class XII exams from any State or Central Education Board in India and are studying Natural and Basic Sciences at the B.Sc., B.S., or Int. M.Sc./M.S. level.
- (b) Students who ranked within the top 10,000 in the IIT JEE or AIPMT exams and are currently studying Natural and Basic Sciences at the B.Sc., B.S., or Int. M.Sc./M.S. level.
- (c) Students who scored within the top 1% in their Class XII exams and are studying Integrated M.S. courses in Natural and Basic Sciences at IISERs, NISER, the Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Basic Sciences-University of Mumbai, or Visva-Bharati, Shanti Niketan.
- (d) Students selected under the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) and pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s courses in Natural Sciences.
- (e) National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) scholars, Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) scholars, and International Olympiad medalists pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s courses in Natural Sciences.
Inspire Scholarship – Renewal
For the continuation of the Inspire Scholarship 2025 in the subsequent years, INSPIRE scholars need to fulfill the criteria mentioned below.
- The students applying for renewal need to score at least 60% marks or 7.0 GPA on a 10.0-point scale in the annual examinations each year (or 2 semesters).

Inspire Scholarship Rewards
Under the scheme SHE, each selected candidate gets a scholarship amount valued at INR 80,000 per annum for the study of Science and Technology and pursue research as a career. Even, the scholarship is awarded of INR 20,000 to the candidates who undertake a summer research project but under some guidance of active researchers at the specified center of India. The maximum duration for which the candidate can avail of the benefits of this scholarship scheme is five years or until the course gets over.

When will I be intimated about my selection?
As we receive an outsized number of applications, the choice process on a mean takes a minimum of four months from the last date of submission of the appliance.
